Northwest Health – La Porte Earns an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group

Northwest Health – La Porte once again earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national organization and advocate for patient safety. An “A” grade is the highest quality and safety measure available.

Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.

“Recognition from nationally recognized review organizations, like the Leapfrog Group, provide affirmation that our hospitals are providing excellent care for our patients,” said Mark Casanova. chief executive officer at Northwest Health – La Porte. “Our teams’ conscientious care, attention to patients’ needs and their focus on following best-practice safety guidelines contributed to this recognition.”

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
