9/11/2025
Northwest Health – La Porte has announced its selections for Employee of the Year, Clinical Manager of the Year and Non-Clinical Manager of the Year, honoring individuals who were nominated by their peers for their outstanding performance and exemplary service.
“Each of these honorees represents the very best of who we are as a hospital,” said Mark Casanova, Chief Executive Officer for Northwest Health – La Porte. “Their commitment to excellence and compassion makes a difference every day in the lives of our patients and is what makes us a trusted place for care.”
The winners are as follows:
Employee of the Year: Allie Miller, PharmD
Allie Miller is the pharmacist lead and has been an integral part of re-establishing the hospital’s antimicrobial stewardship program, which aims to reduce microbial resistance and the spread of infections caused by multi-drug-resistant organisms. In just two months, she organized the program and also prepared for a rigorous review from an outside organization, setting the standard for excellence. Her leadership continues to strengthen collaboration between physicians, nurses, pharmacists and pharmacy students across the hospital.
Clinical Manager of the Year: Kylie Gaffney, BSN, RN
Known for her positivity and hands-on support, Kylie Gaffney leads by example, whether stepping in to help her staff, guiding the Intermediate Care Unit as interim manager, embracing her new role as critical care director or caring for critically ill patients herself. Her ability to balance professionalism with genuine empathy has made her a trusted leader and valued colleague, as well as a source of stability and encouragement for both staff and patients.
Non-Clinical Manager of the Year: John Noble
As supply chain director, John Noble plays a critical role in supporting patient care behind the scenes. By improving unit supply processes and building strong relationships with staff and leaders, Noble has helped ensure that caregivers have the tools they need with minimal disruption. His positive attitude and hands-on approach make him a respected resource, a problem-solver and a valued member of the Northwest Health family.
