Our bariatric program is staffed by a dedicated multidisciplinary team of medical professionals including bariatric surgeons, obesity medicine physicians, dietitians, diabetes educators, physical therapists, a wellness coach, nurses and a support group facilitator. We also have a bariatric coordinator to help guide patients through the weight loss process and provide ongoing education and support. The team will help you achieve your long-term health and weight loss goals.
Meet our Physicians
Andrew Martin, M.D.
Andrew Martin, M.D., is a bariatric surgeon and board-certified general surgeon experienced in a range of bariatric surgical procedures including minimally invasive surgery.
He attended medical school at Wright State University, Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio, and completed his residency at the Summa Akron City Hospital in Akron, Ohio.
Dr. Martin has performed hundreds of bariatric surgeries and enjoys supporting his patients throughout the process.
Kajal Puranik, M.D.

Kajal Puranik, M.D., is an experienced family medicine physician who is board certified in obesity medicine.
Dedicated to helping patients achieve their goals, she is passionate about helping her patients lose weight and manage chronic conditions. Dr. Puranik understands obesity as a complex disease and has helped many patients reach a healthy weight and achieve exceptional improvements in their health.
Recognizing the profound impact of excess weight on conditions such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes, liver disease, joint pain and sleep apnea, Dr. Puranik earned certification from the American Board of Obesity Medicine. She leverages her experience in genetic, biologic, environmental, social and the behavioral factors contributing to obesity to tailor treatment plans for her patients.
She uses therapeutic interventions to address her patient's unique needs including weight loss medication and research-based lifestyle modification tools. She also helps patients prepare for bariatric surgery.
She completed her medical education at the Windsor University College of Medicine Canyon in Saint Kitts, followed by a family medicine residency at Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. After seeing her patients struggle to improve their health through weight loss, she went on to obtain certification from the American Board of Obesity Medicine.
Vinay Tumuluri, M.D.
Vinay Tumuluri is an internal medicine physician who is board certified in obesity medicine.
He enjoys working with patients to meet their healthcare goals and manage their chronic medical conditions.
Dr. Tumuluri is passionate about working with patients to help them reach a healthy weight. He also understands the link between excess weight and conditions such as high blood pressure, heart disease, high cholesterol, joint problems, sleep apnea and type 2 diabetes. He obtained certification through the American Board of Obesity Medicine and now specializes in treating individuals who need to lose significant weight in order to reduce or eliminate their chronic conditions.
Dr. Tumuluri's board certification in obesity medicine was granted based on his knowledge of the genetic, biologic, environmental, social and behavioral factors that can contribute to obesity. He recommends a number of therapeutic interventions to help individuals achieve weight loss, including bariatric surgery when appropriate.
He attended medical school at the Armed Forces Medical College University of Poona – India and completed his residency in internal medicine at Westlake Hospital in Melrose Park, Illinois.
